Proposed Changes to Housing SEPP

The NSW Government is proposing amendments to State Environmental Planning Policy (Housing) 2021. The amendments include changes to:

  • Further incentivise the uptake of in-fill affordable housing provisions
  • Change the planning pathways for social and affordable housing
  • Removing definitions of group homes and hostels introducing new definitions for short-term housing and supported living
  • Updating the accessibility and usability standards for seniors independent living units
  • Revised provisions relating to boarding houses.

An Explanation of Intended Effect (EIE) setting out the changes is being exhibited until Monday 19 December 2022.
